How does dry ice cleaning work?
No dampness, no waste water, no wear, no erosion, no chemicals.
Step 1
Dry ice cleaning works on the principle of 3mm dry ice pellets being propelled from the gun at supersonic speed (>800mph) and impacting the contaminated surface. |
Step 2
The very cold temperature of the dry pellets (-79ºC) freezes the surface and delamination of the contaminant creates cracks. |
Step 3
Pellets break into the rifts of the contaminant and then expand by about 400 times, lifting the contaminant from the surface. |
Step 4
In the process the dry ice sublimates (turns into gas without becoming a liquid), leaving only the contaminant that has been removed behind, which can be easily swept from the floor. |
